Part of Beyond Your Default

You Can't Go Beyond a Thing You've Never Looked At

Course 1 of Beyond Your Default. Twenty lessons on what the default actually is, what you're carrying, and what it costs you. Diagnosis before prescription, because the other two courses don't work until this one has happened.

See the Default, course one of three. A plumb line hanging true beside a leaning structure.

The Rut Doesn't Announce Itself

I'm not anti dinner. I'm not telling anybody to cancel their Netflix account. There's a difference between valuable downtime and a rut you've been sitting in for years.

Here's the tell I use. If you're escaping your life, you're probably in a default.

I know the inside of that one. There was a time I fundamentally believed I didn't deserve the best out of life. Cleveland, Ohio, warehouse guy at a furniture store, living in a room of somebody else's house and knowing I didn't belong there. Those nights out weren't downtime. They were escape.

A default isn't always a bad life. Sometimes it's an unexamined one. That's the whole reason this course exists, and the whole reason it comes first.

What This Course Covers

  • ✓A working definition of the default, and the tell that shows you're in one: if you're escaping your life, you're probably living in it.
  • ✓Time as a construct you can stop treating as an adversary, and why timing is a different thing from time being precious.
  • ✓Fear reframed as a GPS instead of a wall, and anger looked at as a center point rather than the problem itself.
  • ✓Both halves of forgiveness. Forgiving others is how you get out of the cell. Forgiving yourself is the harder one.
  • ✓Ego, imposter syndrome and victim mentality, taken apart one at a time without being turned into insults.
  • ✓The words you use about yourself, and building a home inside before you go looking for one outside.

Twenty Lessons, In Order

The order is doing real work here. It opens on what the default is and closes a year later with a capstone where Liz and I audit our own progress against everything that came before it. Each lesson is a full episode plus the teaching, the flashcards, the reflection and one assignment to run that week.

This Course, or All Three

See the Default on its own is $149. The complete program is $299 for all three courses, 60 lessons and the certificate. One honest heads-up: there is no upgrade credit. Buying this course now and the program later costs $448 total, because the platform can't credit the first purchase against the second. If you think you'll want all three, buy all three.

Questions You Should Ask Before You Buy

No. You'd pay $149 now and the full $299 later, $448 total. Peerfold has no way to credit the first purchase against the second, so I'm telling you here instead of letting you find out at the second checkout. If there's a real chance you'll want all three, the $299 is the honest math.

Start With the Honest Look

Nobody's coming to save you, and that's not a sentence about being alone. It's the one that hands the job back to you. This is the course where you find out what you've actually been carrying.
